Evaluations: During the Term

  • New Tutors (Tutors who have tutored with WriteAway for less than three terms): Master Tutor will randomly select a response to evaluate using the Tutor Response Rubric a minimum of once per term.
  • Experienced Tutors (Tutors in their third or later term with WriteAway): Master Tutor will randomly select a response to evaluate using the Experienced Tutor Rubric a minimum of once every second term.
  • Tutors may receive additional feedback on their responses at the discretion of their institutional coordinator.

Survey: Mid Point of the Term

Tutors will be asked to complete an online form (survey) providing feedback on their experience thus far staffing WriteAway. Link to the survey will be provided and responses will be collected by the WriteAway Administrative Centre.

Self-Evaluation: End of the Term

Each tutor conducts a self-evaluation of one of their own tutoring responses using the Tutor Response Rubric and provides that and any platform feedback they have to their institutional coordinator.

Institutional Coordinator Debrief Meeting: Post Term

Institutional coordinators from all sites will meet to debrief the semester, discuss their experiences using the rubric, and provide any platform feedback they might have.
